An Upper West Side Market Tour

Earthy hues, sun drenched windows, soaring ceilings, elegant curves, and picture perfect shelves of deliciously sustainable goods. Let’s take a peak inside this next generation market through the lens of photographer Kate Jordan.

Located on Columbus Ave. at W. 77th, just steps from the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, and the farmers market, this pre-war building was designed by quintessential brownstone architect Thom & Wilson.

The custom kitchen island provides an inviting, almost residential feel to the space. Glass pantry containers store Mast’s own line of organic essentials and are on display throughout the market.

The refreshingly minimalist entry (elegant curved stairwell included) quietly leads guests into the market. Walls are painted in soft, warm, natural hues, playfully described by a customer as the “color of risen dough”.

The bespoke pantry shelving displays homemade jams, house-roasted coffees, organic teas, freshly milled flours, heritage grains, snacks, cookbooks, kitchen supplies, sustainable home goods, and more.

This sustainability minded market provides a robust selection of house made pantry essentials, everyday groceries, baked goods, local produce, as well as home, kitchen and bath items - all in a refreshingly quaint footprint. A true neighborhood market.

Mast Market is open daily 8am - 8pm

353 Columbus Ave (at W 77th St.)
